Dr. Sanjay K Gupta
Dr. Sanjay K Gupta has been working globally with WASH, waste and recycling, circularity, climate change and Swachh Bharat Mission within the framework of Climate Change and livelihood issues. He has been part of dozens of innovative initiatives that involved the informal sector waste workers improvement in livelihood, WASH improvement, women entrepreneurship in WASH and waste, mass recycling campaigns, dustbin free cities, SME development in waste and recycling, zero waste towns and zero waste schools and university campuses and large public events both in India and globally.
In his last 23 years stint as a champion of Zero Waste and Integrated Inclusive Waste Management Advocate, he has helped several municipalities, create jobs and be in compliance with various environmental laws of Government of respective countries. He also led several pro-climate change issues, WASH and livelihood campaigns creating pathways for local youth and women to harness their potentials. He has also contributed to award winning reports like Global Waste Management Outlook, Status of Solid Waste in World Cities and Global Indicators for Solid waste Management. He is a repeat speaker of TEDx talks. Currently he lives in Delhi and has a Ph. D in Social Sciences from JNU and also completed waste management courses from Sweden, USA and Egypt.
